PRIMARY EDUCATION

Primary education in Montessori schools, also known as the “Children’s House,” is designed for children between the ages of 3-6. It is characterized by several unique features:

  1. Child-Centered Environment: The classrooms are designed to be accessible and enticing to children. They always have access to materials, promoting independence

  2. Responsibility and Awareness: Children are given responsibility for their own work. This includes keeping the classroom clean and tidy, putting things away when done, and behaving as role models for younger students.

  3. Freedom within Limits: While children allowed to choose how they wish to learn, there are boundaries to ensure a conducive learning environment.

  4. Harmonious Setting: The classroom is designed to be beautiful and harmonious, encouraging concentration, calmness, and self-direction.

  5. Multi-Age Learning: The classrooms often have multi-age groupings, allowing older children to act as role models and assist younger ones.

  6. Hands-On Learning: Montessori education is student-led and self-paced but guided, assessed, and enriched by knowledgeable and caring teachers.
